MATCH REPORTS – DETERMINATION AND COMMITMENT, 29 JANUARY- 5 FEBRUARY

7th Feb 2025

29 JANUARY- 5 FEBRUARY

GIRLS ACADEMY

BFA U14 GIRLS BLACK  // COACH DWIGHT // 0 – 0

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Despite not being one of our better performances this season, the last 10 mins of the game showed a team willing to battle for the win until the very end. We created so many goal scoring opportunities and threw everything at the opposition, but on the day we couldn’t convert our chances into goals.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Despite not having much to do for large portions of the game, Keiti made 3 brilliant 1v1 saves that kept us in the game and ultimately won us a point. Well done to her for keeping her focus when it mattered most!

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: I believe had we prepared properly for the game we could’ve won. The effort and intensity during training & the warm up was lacklustre and this translated into a subpar performance. I know the team agrees we’re much better than what we showed, and I hope we’ll rectify this during training this week.

BFA U14 GIRLS GOLD  // COACH DWIGHT // 4 – 1

FAVOURITE MOMENT: As a coach, it’s heartwarming to see what you worked on in training play out during a match. The girls were brilliant from start to finish, displaying effective passing combinations and constantly unlocking the opposition defence with forward runs in behind.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH:Our captain Jet deserves player of the match, as she put on a very mature performance assisting all four goals and was happy to drop back from striker into midfield to dictate the play and create numerous chances through the game. Whether scoring or assisting, she always leaves her mark on the game.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: If we can master the timings of our runs and passes in behind, we will become even more potent, as we had two or three goals chalked off for offside. But nonetheless I commend their efforts for constantly trying to break the lines and get in behind to score.

MARYLEBONE- BFA U9 DEVELOPMENT // COACH ANTONIO // 5 – 1

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Yehia, what a save! Uahhh! Mark nearly scored the goal of the decade!

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Alessandro, first appearance with the team.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Playing faster on the side, starting with the Gk and dribbling to create space.

BFA U13 GIRLS // COACH BETHANY // 1 – 0

FAVOURITE MOMENT:The overall massive team effort from all players especially as a few players volunteered before the game to play out of position for part of the fixture for the team. The constant push and determination second half to work as a team to secure the win.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Players players – Eden for her constant running and determination that led to her scoring the winner and Nahia for her amazing saves in goal

Coaches player – Lauryn for her strength and constant effort in all areas of the pitch

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: To improve for future fixtures we need to start games quicker with more focus.

BFA U13 GIRLS BLACK // COACH BETHANY // 2 – 3

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Sheer effort, determination and commitment from all players all game as the girls played with 5 vs 6, with this they managed to create an amazing counter attack that started from an opposition corner and was dribbled down the pitch by Zoe who played a perfect ball across the box to Abbie who scored

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Players player – Zoe for her incredible performance in midfield where she helped to secure the ball and create opportunities for the team

Coaches player – Allie for never giving up and running from start to finish and making crucial tackles at the back and some great saves in goal

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: N/a other than having a full squad of 7 as the 5 who played gave everything

BOYS ACADEMY

BLOOMSBURY U14 GOLDS // COACH GEORGE // 5 – 0

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Boys took on information really well before and during the game. They were patient throughout the whole game and played some great football at times. Managed to score after some great combinations.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Linus Noueiri – Hat trick and 1 assist in the second half.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We have to start games on the front foot. Sloppy start is not great so we need to be more focused and concentrate.

BFA U21 MENS TEAM // COACH STEVEN // 5 – 0

FAVOURITE MOMENT: New signing Freddie Brennan scoring with his first touch, coming on as a substitute and following some neat combination play after a quick throw in.

Jayden Irish’s pinpoint cross to the back post, headed home by Joseph Holmes for the full backs first goal of the season!

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Nathan Jobbins. Opened the scoring after just 4 minutes with a well taken goal after intense pressure in the final third finally paid off. Cooly converted his second from the penalty spot, which he won, after being brought down in the box by the goalkeeper. Got the assist for Brennans goal with a fine flick over his defender to set up Freddie for his first touch finish!

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: After a blistering opening 30 minutes, which saw us race into a 4-0 lead, the second half was a good display of control, with a numerical advantage although our progression and penetration into the final third could have been more clinical at times!

U14 GOLD // COACH GEORGE // 1 – 2

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Boys fought for the whole game against top of the league with several players missing. They show great character and almost managed to get a draw at the end of the game. We need to highlight that the boys are playing a year up but they are doing great so far.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Troy Selene – managed to lead the team with positivity for the whole game despite him being really ill lately.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Being more physical especially when playing with older oppositions.

BFA U12 // COACH MILO // 2 – 5

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Basti – persevered & worked hard for the team.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: I’ll pin it down to mentality: you go a goal down, you go again, play the football we play that has made us the team we are. Play together as a team, play composed but aggressive football. Lift each other up.

BFA BLACK // COACH MILO  // 3 – 0

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Chris’ corner goal as a moment but I loved our composure when building from the back in the 1st-half. Calm & strategic in our approach, constantly assessing where the press was coming from & where the space was subsequently.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Joao – did a job wide, central, up the pitch, down the pitch. Fantastic double movements to go down the line 1v1 & made a goal-saving clearance.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Taking our chances, again: in the final 3rd, be clinical lads, not too many touches, touch our your feet & bang. See pass, play pass. Also, being relentless going till final whistle.

FANTASTIC EFFORT ALL AROUND!
