Bloomsbury Football Foundation’s mission is to tackle health and social inequalities. We do this by breaking down barriers to accessing the transformative benefits of football, which, as the most popular sport on earth, is a powerful way to reach young people.

Taking place on housing estates, in schools, and at community centres, our programmes support over 5,500 young people every week. Our Financial Assistance model and inclusive sessions ensure no child is turned away, regardless of ability to pay or play.

Young people reached a week across 8 boroughs in London. We are dedicated to ensuring that every young person can access our sessions.

60% of young players receive 80-100% bursaries. Our financial support model means that no player is priced off the pitch.

Girls per week are currently engaged across our programmes in London. We believe that a girl’s place is on the pitch.

Of parents reported that Bloomsbury Football’s sessions have had a positive effect on their child’s mental wellbeing.

WHY WE EXIST

Bloomsbury Football Foundation helps young people win at life.

We’re tackling the inactivity pandemic and mental health crisis affecting young people by breaking down financial and social barriers to the life-changing power of the beautiful game.

WHY FOOTBALL?

Football improves mental and physical health

Playing with Bloomsbury Football gives young people the access to the many mental and physical benefits of regular physical activity, as well as providing a support network by welcoming them into our London-wide community.

Football builds stronger communities

Our financial support model ensures that no young person is priced out of play, and our sessions bring young people from a wide range of backgrounds together. This tackles the increasing social division in our city, and teaches young people to play as a team and communicate more effectively.

Football teaches life skills

Football is a reflection of the wider world – the lessons we learn on the pitch can be used far beyond the side lines. By presenting the beautiful game as a microcosm of society, we are able to teach valuable skills to young people that will help them to achieve their goals throughout their life.

OUR PROGRAMMES

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

Bloomsbury Football want to make football accessible and affordable to all young people in London. That’s why we offer financial support, meaning 25-100% discounts on price, for girls from low-income households.
