It’s October, which means we’re one week closer to @laliga x Bloomsbury Football League which kicks off on 5 November 🚀 We’re so grateful for LaLiga’s commitment to supporting grassroots football in the London 🙏 This summer, the LaLiga x Bloomsbury League was a huge success with 48 excellent Bloomsbury players taking to the pitch over four weeks. Our players were so proud to wear the kit of @sdhuesca and other LaLiga teams, and we’re excited to bring the same excitement to more players this time around. This is what Bloomsbury is all about – to make football accessible and fun for all 👏 #LaLigaxBloomsburyFootball
TIKTOK WORKSHOPS WITH @cakegroup 💥 At Bloomsbury, we’re proud to be changing the game for young people- on and off the pitch ⚽️ Last week, we held our first TikTok workshop at @havas’ incredible offices in Kings Cross🏢 This was an incredible opportunity for our young people and young people from @footballbeyondborders to learn about how brands use TikTok, see some iconic Cake campaigns & we had the chance to get creative 🤳 Can’t wait for the next one… 👏
CHANGING THE GAME FOR GIRLS IN FOOTBALL- AND YOU’RE INVITED ⚽️ Following this record-breaking year for football, we are committed to turning the Lionesses’ win into a sustainable legacy for girls’ football. We are tackling the specific barriers that keep girls from getting on the pitch, such as the stigma around periods and the lack of knowledge about how to train with your cycle. Olympian & Commonwealth champion, Hannah Miley MBE, will be running period workshops over the weekend of 15-16 October, and we’d love to see you there. Slide into our DMs for more info about how you can get involved. 💥
Humans of Bloomsbury- Ben, Head of Futsal Administration “I started playing football when I was around 6 or 7, just at school, in the playground. I joined a local team that my cousin played for because we were close growing up. A year or so later, I moved to another team, but I stopped playing properly by the age of 10. I didn’t get back into football until I was around 15, which was when I started going to Arsenal matches with a friend from school. The same cousin that I played football with growing up was an Arsenal fan, so I became one as well- it wasn’t really ingrained in my family. Once I started going to games, that was it- that’s where my love of football grew and has remained. For me, football has always been about the community. It’s about being a fan. I try to play recreationally, but for me the real love is going to matches, seeing the team, meeting people. It’s pure euphoria- the moment we score a goal. Nothing else matters in that moment- whatever may be going on in my life at that time, I’m not thinking about it. It’s an escape in a way. My love for Arsenal has grown with me, and I wouldn’t feel this way about any other club. It’s been a constant in my life. I really struggle to explain it- it’s chasing a moment, that moment when we score and celebrate together. It’s community, it’s like one big family. I wanted to work for Bloomsbury for two main reasons. The smaller team size means rapid professional development and an ability to really make a difference and have an impact. The second reason is the mission- to break down barriers to entry. I was lucky enough growing up to be in a family that were able to support me playing sport, but I remember a couple of players I knew who didn’t get as far as they could have done because they didn’t have the financial support. Knowing that Bloomsbury Football exists to ensure that doesn’t happen- it’s so important”. [CONTINUED IN COMMENTS]

Bloomsbury was the best experience I had playing football before Watford. We had the best coaches, kit and pitches and it really helped me to improve, especially because of how much football we got every week. It was actually the same amount as I get now at Watford!Jack
I’ve always been interested in football but I could never find a dedicated girls session – finally being able to participate in regular sport has really helped me get through the COVID crisis’Adele
I never thought that one year after coming to London I would be asked for a trial at a Premier League club! Thank you, Bloomsbury for making my dreams come true!Davide
