On March 7, Bloomsbury Football and Active Girls Camden teamed up to deliver the Biggest Ever Football Session as part of The Football Association’s ‘Made For This Game’ campaign. This event engaged 240 girls from 12 schools in an unforgettable day of football, movement & fun.
For many of these young players, this was their first experience on the pitch. The event wasn’t just about learning new skills; it was a celebration of sport and what girls can achieve both on and off the pitch.

This landmark session is part of Bloomsbury Football’s Girls Football Strategy, which will enable 10,000 girls to get on the pitch weekly by 2028.
Bloomsbury Football has pledged to achieve 50/50 gender equality across its programmes, ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to play football in a welcoming and inspiring environment.
Reflecting on the event, Imy Saunders, Girls Football Lead and Academy Coordinator, said:
“Bloomsbury Football joined forces with Active Girls Camden to celebrate International Women’s Day this year. It was amazing to see 240 girls on the pitch, learning new skills and experiencing the joy of football. Bloomsbury Football launched a Girls Participation Strategy in 2024 with the ambitious pledge to reach 50/50 gender equality. Events like the Biggest Ever Football sessions are vital to tackling stereotypes in the game, and giving every girl the confidence to know she belongs in this game.”
By breaking down barriers and providing a welcoming space for girls to play, Bloomsbury Football continues to push for a more inclusive future – on and off the pitch.
