BFA U14 GIRLS BLACK // COACH DWIGHT // 2 – 5
FAVOURITE MOMENT: When we play with confidence and belief, we always manage to surprise even ourselves. Despite playing one of the strongest sides in the league, we scored within the first 2 minutes! Even when we went behind we kept believing and scored the final goal with some brilliant football. Never mind the loss, it was a performance we could all be proud of.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: It’s hard to give just one player of the match as everyone played superb. Our captain Emma was sensational at the back, making tackles all over the pitch. Ella played her best game in recent weeks with her excellent reading of the game. But I have to give it to Elif for her efforts in goal, her hold up play up to, and her fantastic goal at the end of the game.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We must apply the same confidence and intention not just in all our future matches, but in training too. If we trained the way we played, I have no doubt we play at an even higher level and that would make us even stronger than we’ve already become! With an actual keeper in goal we’d also go up several levels.
BFA U12 BOYS // COACH MILO // 5 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Loved seeing our wingers high and wide creating 3v2 opportunities v their back-line. Had loads of success and were able to release our really dangerous wide players.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Despite being prime candidate for Mr. Too-Many-Touches, the quality of this boy is frightening. Terrific performance with some fantastic individual moments.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Attacking faster. We allow defences to get back into shape by taking too many touches & being too slow. Consider when it’s best to be slow v fast; have a deliberate approach.
BFA U14 // COACH GEORGE // 4 – 6
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Boys performance was really good for the majority of the game. Fought for every single ball and show resilience to win the game. Unfortunately we didn’t make it.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Archie Alberts – really good in possession of the ball with correct passes and decisions all over the pitch. I was really impressed as well from his work rate!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We have to improve how to manage games when things don’t go out way. We lost our concentration for 5 minutes and we conceded 3 goals from our own mistakes.
BFA GOLD // COACH GEORGE
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Boys understood and executed the whole game plan really well for the whole game. Despite people being away due to illness or injury we competed to a really good standard.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Alexander Benson Coombes – Played really well especially on the defensive part and tried many times to attack as well!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Same thing as Fridays game. We lost our concentration when we were on top form. We ended up conceding 2 goals in 8 minutes.
BFA U11 GOLD // COACH JEROME // 5 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: The first 10 minutes of the game where we went 5 against 7 because a couple players were running late. The boys didn’t complain, just worked their socks off and worked together to keep the team in the game and only went 1-0 down during that period.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Every single player on the pitch. It was an incredible team performance and I’m proud of all of the players. Amazing performance
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Communication – being more vocal with eachother throughout. Especially in a situation where we are down 2 players, communication is key in making sure the team is together.
BFA U14 BLACK // COACH FRANCO // 2 – 0
FAVOURITE MOMENT: The level of intensity throughout the whole game and keeping a clean sheet.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Everett, consistency and work rate.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING:Communication
BFA U15 GOLD // COACH JAMES AND BIRAJ // 5 – 3
FAVOURITE MOMENT: The whole game. We anticipated a tough game against the unbeaten top of the table team. We came out the blocks on fire, could’ve been 2/3 up. Playing some exquisite football get us 5 goals. However I was impressed with how we handled the second half. Aggressive 1v1 defending and crowing the box, blocking as many shots as we could!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Jake Davies. His aggression and intelligence got us over the line as he played the whole game. Consistently clearing up in defense and giving the team a platform to go on and perform the way we did.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Defensive awareness. The opposition when in possession. Left a number of players higher the pitch as we were outnumbered defensively but improved as the game went on.
BFA U10 BLACK // COACH ALEX
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Our Captain Brian didn’t give up on anything, there was one moment in the game where he chased the ball down all the way back to the oppositions byline, collapsing on the floor in style and leading by example for the rest of his team – great performance!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: A tough one to pick this week as yet again it was a brilliant team performance, but this week player of the match was Bear for his composure, quick feet, ability to find his teammates with passes, and great attitude no matter what position he played!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Some good examples of communication in this week’s game, we can improve by remembering to talk to each other throughout the game. Remember the game we did at the start of Thursday’s training!
BFA U12 GOLD // COACH MILO // 1 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: We had good moments in wide areas as we’d been working on in training, which was really pleasing as a coach. Loads of success for D on the right and some great runs in behind, particularly from Christian.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Deniro. Another top performance with quality and fight in abundance. Didn’t deserve to be on the losing side but I absolutely loved the emotion I saw after the final whistle. Top guy.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Where to start… authority in our own third/box, uplifting communication to create an atmosphere, and having a different mindset with & without the ball. Please refer to Spond reflections for more detail.
BFA U11 GOLD // COACH JEROME // 2 – 3
FAVOURITE MOMENT: The football that led to both of our goals, was great to see core moves being used and it resulting in a goal. William used an underlap and scored from it, and Marcelo used an overlap and scored from it.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: The ever so reliable Pax Moren – He was everywhere in this game, done a fantastic job for the team and barely put a foot wrong.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Decision making in key areas weren’t great this game. In the final third our play broke down more often than usual, partly down to the pitch, partly down to decision making, and partly down to the opposition working extremely hard defensively.
BFA U11 BLACK // COACH JEROME // 4 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: George O’Hare made an absolutely incredible save to keep us 3-2 up with about 2 minutes left. I was sure they were going to score but he pulled off a world class game winning save!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Areeb Abdelkerim – Was a constant threat and worked his socks off! Made some really important challenges defensively, all coming from his incredible work rate which drove the team!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Can we defend better in the initial stages and not dive in which leads to us defending frantically and having to perform last ditch challenges.
BFA U8 DEV // COACH ADRIA AND IGNACIO // 0 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Favourite moment of the match was when Rome was about to take a free kick and Heath ( who recently joined the squad) cheered Rome up from the other side of the pitch to give Rome motivation, confidence and positivity!!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Heath was chosen the player of the match. Jos positivity throughout his first match, helping the team out in attack, defense and in goal. with a remarkable performance on his first match with us! Well done Heath!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Playing forward is something we are looking to improve for the next trainings… Players have to recognise more space forward and attack that space by positioning themselves or passing forward. That way it will be easier for the team to break and have higher scoring opportunities…
BFA U15 GOLD // COACH JAMES AND BIRAJ // 5 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Overall Maturity. We’ve played against this opposition and lost one, drew one, however today, there was only one winner. From minute 1, we dominated on and off the ball to cap off a resounding win!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Levi Falade. Two assist and a strong performance at the back from one of our captains!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Keep working defensively towards working to more consistent clean sheets, we’ve made big strides in recent times and very impressed with how much better we have become at protecting our goal.
BFA U12 GOLD // COACH MILO // 2 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: First goal was special. Again, really pleasing to see success from our wrong-footed wingers cutting in & looking to connect—this time through a ridiculous Deniro pass to Basti, who lofted it over the keeper.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Kurt had a brilliant performance pulling strings in the middle. Had LFS on strings then scored the winning penalty. Well in lad!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Probably should have scored more and take responsibility to unpick their shape—dealt with it at half-time, but the challenge would be for players to recognise earlier. Really proud of their fight & bravery though.
BFA ACA U15 GOLD // COACH BIRAJ // 3 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Jack Orbell’s goal. A long range thunderbolt with the keeper having no chance!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Ignacio Carrasquero. A recent joiner who is excelling week to week, his composure on the ball and technical prowess is fantastic for all go watch!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Killing off games when we have the momentum, the last 10/15 mins were nerve wrecking but the boys got themselves over the line.
