U13 BOYS GOLD V. PANTHERA (WFL) // 1-3 // LEAD COACH: BEN FOSTER
Fixture date: 3 Nov 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW Ayman’s goal was another piece of really intelligent attacking play from him – seeing things early and having the bravery to execute. There was also a really entertaining 30 seconds in our goal, where it was cleared off the line TWICE through some great goalkeeping and brave defending!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH There were a few solid individual performances today but I’ll give the POTM to Elijah. He was tireless up front and consistently made excellent forward runs. He could and should have grabbed a goal as well!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING For the 15 minutes after half-time, we demonstrated how effective pressure, intensity, and getting in an opponent’s face can be at asserting ourselves in games. In all other moments of the game, our energy dropped off-the-ball, and this was how Panthera managed to take full control of the match.
U15 BOYS V. WHETSTONE TIGERS (WFL) // 0-4 // LEAD COACH: BIRAJ PAUL
Fixture date: 3 Nov 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW A very tough game for the boys, with some good spells, but as a whole struggled throughout.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Strahinja Zizic, as he was solid defensively in a game where we struggled throughout.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Struggling with consistency as we perform well and then poorly the following week.
U14 BOYS BLACK V. EDMONTON RANGERS FC (WFL) // 0-4 // LEAD COACH: FRANCO DE MARCO POSE
Fixture date: 3 Nov 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW After going 1-0 down in the first half, we came out with a really good first 5-10 on the second where we moved the ball brilliantly generating a couple of chances in the process.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Elias, another great performance of our goalkeeper making a bunch of saves.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Communication and positioning.
U14 DEV V. HINTON REVOLUTION LEGENDS (WFL) // 2-2 // LEAD COACH: IGNACIO MARINI
Fixture date: 20 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW Great solo goal by Joseph Lemaire, who started the play on the right flank and beat two defenders before putting the ball in the top corner. His goal willed a come back as we were 2-0 down by this point of the game.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Vova Strishenets for his defensive solidity and determination in the defensive third. Vova leads by example!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Because of the players available, we were forced to play a back three for the first time. It is clear we need more time adapting to this system and understanding each player role.
