Bloomsbury girls U12 Girls 5-1 Marylebone FC

Kaya’s on fire & the defence was terrified! Kaya scored all 5 goals, opening the scoring early on and later scored a free kick from the right into the bottom left corner. Her last goal was a drive in from the right and into the bottom left. Incredible individual performance with a players’ player of the match vote to top it off.

We saw a brilliant team performance – the goals and the clean sheet would not have been possible without some excellent teamwork and togetherness. From the first minute of the warmup the team was super focused and excited to try and get to the final of the cup…and we did it! Captain Kitty received coaches player of the match for excellent workrate down the wing, always running back to defend and taking the ball up in attack superbly. Lauryn had a great game in goal too and even had a great spell in defence! We have been working on counter attacking which we executed perfectly, it was just the final shot sometimes that let us down. We could do a little better at pressing from the keepers ball and we will be working on this!

Bloomsbury boys U8 Gold vs Sport London e Benfica

The best game that this team has played since December! The engagement was fantastic, players keeping the ball until space were created by opposition. A lot of scanning and using their body to protect the ball. The switch of play was unbelievable for this age group. Gustave being called from the black team for his debut with gold team was great to see! Starting on the bench to get a game changer in our left wing when necessary, and as soon as he came on, he made great use of his amazing left foot to score a great goal on his debut!

Player of the match was shared. Pax received this as he was clearly the magic player on this game, keeping possession of the ball when necessary or using his amazing knowledge of the game to put speed on the ball and run in the wing to make a lot of crosses and he even scored a goal as well! Teo was the other player of the match for his great resilience and spirit of sacrifice staying ahead of the defenders and keeping possession as a striker, creating a huge gap in the opposition midfield. When the players are aware of the jobs on the pitch, they commit to the club and the team! This is what they get back, an amazing performance which was cheered on at the side lines from parents, friends and other coaches! We will be keeping our focus and working on some individual positioning and tactical part of the game!

Bloomsbury boys U9 vs East End Lions

The build-up play to the first goal was impeccable! It started from Ori who then passed it to Louay who did an amazing pass into Robert who passed it to Zakarya who went on to score! This shows that the boys are capable of doing amazing play, they just need to trust themselves more.

Both Zakarya’s goals were great moments! He was quick and skilful, keeping the ball close to him allowing to dance round players and score two beautiful goals. Player of the match goes to Ori. Some of Ori’s saves were brilliant! It didn’t matter how many shots was taken at him; he was ready. Even when he couldn’t save the ones that went in, that didn’t bring him down and he was focused. The set pieces that we were practicing this week were not implemented. However, it was good to see bits of play that we have practiced in other training sessions. We will be working on our defensive side when the opposition are attacking and how to slow them down.

Bloomsbury boys U9 vs PFA

A key moment was when the boys conceded the goals they did. After each one, everyone stayed positive and kept fighting which shows that they are growing as a team and working together! This lead up to the first goal which was brilliant! Sharp passing and lots of movement confused the opposition as they didn’t know how to react allowing Robert to have a clean shot on goal.

Player of the match goes to Robert as he kept fighting and even with a fractured toe (which he didn’t even know he had!) he pushed through and showed perseverance and determination throughout the game. In training, we worked on one-on-one and set pieces, however they still need to work on their one-on-one situations when attacking, but they were using the wings really well which we have practiced in previous sessions! We need to stop panicking when on the ball and when we are attacking, we need to practice keeping our head up and scanning before receiving a pass!

Bloomsbury boys U10 Gold vs Active FC

The positivity and enjoyment the players had for their football was great to see. After the 2nd half the boys started passing between them and scored some brilliant team goals. Player of the match goes to Bastian who scored some great goals but also took pride in assisting goals for teammates. We made sure our shots were on target in the corner to score!

Bloomsbury boys U10 Gold vs LFS Red

Going into a 3-0 lead within the first 8 minutes was the highlight! The defending and hard work the team put in with 0 substitutions available was great to see! Marlei stepped up to play with the gold team, scored 2 goals and worked really hard for the team earning him player of the match. We look to attack as a group and play the ball forward as quickly as possible. We need to make sure we are tracking the runs to the back post when we are defending!

Bloomsbury boys U11 Gold 3-1 Whetstone Wanderers Panthers

Morley putting in 2 great passes/crosses for 2 of our goals was a great moment. Samuel’s goal meant that we regained the lead and demonstrated the passing and movement we wanted within the team performance!

Player of the match Adam scored two brilliant goals and worked tirelessly up front. The boys shape in and out of possession was brilliant which is a big plus from the week’s training. We needed to be more clinical in the first pass and make sure our shots were on target in the corners.

Bloomsbury girls U12A 1-4 PSA

Kaya scored first but we struggled to keep a hold of possession and get a foot hold in the game. The opposition had some new strong additions in their team, we stopped them a few times, but they managed to get 4 past us. Although we had some moments of build-up play, we lacked in communication many times. This included two players going for the same ball and then leaving gaps in midfield. Despite this there was a big improvement from the first half to the second half as we managed to control their high balls in the air better and pass out from the back into wide areas. Tara especially did well at this! O’Miya and Esther received players player of the match for excellent defence work and O’Miya used her pace brilliant to breeze past players. Nina on her debut received coaches player of the match for getting stuck in despite it being new territory! Frankie made some excellent tackles and kept with runners. Big shout out to Salima, Janet and Eleanor for staying to help the team out in goal and in defence.

Bloomsbury girls U12 3-2 SFC

Janet had an amazing game as striker scoring two excellent goals! Players player of the match went to her. Jet also scored and showed brilliant physicality in winning the balls in high areas. Eleanor put in some key tackles to stop some of the oppositions skilful players. Ella also was strong in midfield! We lost against this team a couple of weeks ago and it was great to see the passion to beat them this time even though it was a friendly game. Players stepped up honourably to play in goal and did a great job. Nina played in her first game for Bloomsbury and took everything onboard and really shone as a winger, finding the direct passes up to Janet or jet!
