BFA U15 GOLD // COACH BIRAJ AND JAMES // 5 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Overall Maturity. We’ve played against this opposition and lost one, drew one, however today, there was only one winner. From minute 1, we dominated on and off the ball to cap off a resounding win!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Levi F. Two assist and a strong performance at the back from one of our captains!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Keep working defensively towards working to more consistent clean sheets, we’ve made big strides in recent times and very impressed with how much better we have become at protecting our goal.
BFA U12 GOLD BOYS // COACH MILO // 2 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: First goal was special. Again, really pleasing to see success from our wrong-footed wingers cutting in & looking to connect—this time through a ridiculous Deniro pass to Basti, who lofted it over the keeper.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Kurt had a brilliant performance pulling strings in the middle. Had LFS on strings then scored the winning penalty. Well in lad!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Probably should have scored more and take responsibility to unpick their shape—dealt with it at half-time, but the challenge would be for players to recognise earlier. Really proud of their fight & bravery though.
BFA ACA GOLD // COACH BIRAJ // 3 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Jack’s goal. A long range thunderbolt with the keeper having no chance!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Ignacio C. A recent joiner who is excelling week to week, his composure on the ball and technical prowess is fantastic for all go watch!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Killing off games when we have the momentum, the last 10/15 mins were nerve wrecking but the boys got themselves over the line.
BFA BLACK // COACH ABDULLAH // 6 – 7
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Really enjoyed the second half come back. Who scored a couple goals quickly and put a lot of pressure on the opposition to the end. This was the best match for a black team this season. Now we can get ready for tournament season after Easter!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Mati – had a good game in defence and and attack and scored some nice goals.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We need to be more proactive than reactive in defending. We got caught out several times because we did not press fast enough and not getting back to defend quickly.
BFA U8 // COACH ABDULLAH
FAVOURITE MOMENT: It was a very competitive game. The opposition really challenged us in the first quarter. We started to get going in the third and fourth quarter. Our pressing was good in these quarters and we started to run with the ball and getting pass the opposition with great success. Good to see the things we’ve been working on in training paying off.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Everyone was outstanding and showed great resilient and attitude to come back from a bad start in the first two quarters.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We still need to work on shutting down and slowing down, when we are pressing the opposition. We still need to work on ball striking, try to get the boys understanding what part of the foot to strike with and how to do it and when to do it.
BFA // COACH BIRAJ // 0 – 5
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Good start where we dominated processing, got off some good chances and had the opposition on the back foot
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Ignacio C. He was very good on and off the ball.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Being clinical and managing the game.
BFA U9 DEV // COACH ANTONIO // 2 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: What a victory after months of resilience! “It’s not luck. It’s hard work”.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: The whole team! Oustanding performance!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Playing on the side and use the dribble to create space.
BFA U12 GOLD // COACH MILO // 1 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Hard to pick a best moment when the whole match was just another case of groundhog day, finding new and inventive ways of losing a football match. The 1st 20 mins were pure domination though – they barely got out of their third – & there were some nice combinations involving Santi.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Mr Krasniqi. Stepped into CM with aplomb and imperious at the back yet again. One of the season’s unsung heroes who’s shown terrific progress throughout the season. Well done son!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Dominating both boxes because we dominate most other things. Having a greater focus on the psychological side of our game – creating an uplifting environment that responds well in adversity, that holds each other accountable & takes command of learning. Runs when Chris has the ball.
BFA U12 BLACK // COACH MILO // 0 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Started the game in really dominant fashion, building nicely, and finding spaces to play through them. Were so unlucky not to have scored from that period, with a particularly dubious GK save outside the area not going our way.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Daryan. Can’t believe I didn’t take him after his first trial. The guy mops up at the back like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Any counter-attack with Daryan, I wasn’t stressed. Top performance.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Continuing to play, whilst knowing what the end goal is of building: finding the free player & playing in behind their back-line as quickly as possible. Matching their intensity second-half but HGS set a really good benchmark for us to copy in terms of their aggression and pressing.
