U11 GIRLS V. HGS (GSL) // 2-1 // LEAD COACH: CHELSEA POPE
Fixture date: 20 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW After going 1-0 down, the girls showed excellent determination to get back into the game. We earned a free kick in which Aiva executed a master plan and set it back to Aneira, who then scored an incredible goal to make it 1-1 just before half time.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Aiva showed excellent attitude throughout, supporting her teammates and showing great creativity, which resulted in a great assist for one of our goals.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING An excellent performance from all of the girls, but next time it’s looking at how we can communicate more as a team to ensure we’re not going for the same ball and can play our passing game instead of panicking on the ball.
U13 BOYS GOLD V. LFS (CAMDEN & ISLINGTON YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE) // 4-5 // LEAD COACH: BEN FOSTER
Fixture date: 18 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW The lads’ defensive determination throughout the game was superb to see! They were throwing themselves at every shot and managed to block some very powerful efforts. LFS had a lot of chances but our boys showed some superb emergency defending throughout !
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Louis was our POTM for this game. He was absolutely immense at the back, withstanding a peppering on our goal by LFS, being strong in the air and when challenging for the ball, and generally working so hard in all phases of the game. His best game this season so far!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Our decision-making in the final third was lacking today. We often dealt with pressure and built from the back well from panicked and rushed when we got into dangerous areas. We need to support in bigger numbers to provide options when advancing and keep our composure near goal!
U9 BOYS GOLD V. THE A FC (CAMDEN & ISLINGTON YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE) // LEAD COACH: ALFIE SWAIN
Fixture date: 19 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW Great match intensity. My favourite moment was when Henry was able to dribble past a player then shield the ball to win a penalty!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Roka Khamis wins this title for today, as he was a very energetic goalscorer!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING We need to work on our focus and be switched on the minute the whistle goes, and be ready to engage with attackers who are a threat towards our goal.
U9 BOYS BLACK V. CAMDEN BOROUGH (CAMDEN YOUTH LEAGUE) // LEAD COACH: ARCHIE VINER
Fixture date: 19 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW Musa and Khalid did really well bagging two goals each, with really good finishes!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Musa has to be today’s POTM, as he was all over the pitch, especially in the first half- A MACHINE!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING We need to work on our defensive play after conceding, to ensure we don’t concede straight away.
U9 BOYS DEVELOPMENT V. CAMDEN TOWN (CAMDEN YOUTH LEAGUE) // 1-2 // LEAD COACH: ANTONIO SCICCHITANO
Fixture date: 19 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW The first goal we scored was a joyful moment!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Everyone! It is too difficult to just select one player, as everyone put in a great shift.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING We need to be more focused on the opposite counter attack.
U13 BOYS GOLD V. ALEXANDRA PARK (WFL) // 4-5 // LEAD COACH: BEN FOSTER
Fixture date: 20 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW Each of our goals were of very high quality: a great free-kick from Yili and Ayman’s clever daisy-cutter from the edge of the box were the highlights of the bunch. It was great to see the lads push hard to take a commanding lead after going 1-0 down; we now just need to control the game after this!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH This goes to Zinedine today. Both goalscorers were excellent, but I think Zizou was instrumental in all the positive things we did today and was a real handful for their midfield; he has had two great performances this week!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING There are three reasons these capitulations keep happening. Firstly, we are compacting our own shape, making it difficult to use the ball to move the opposition and control the tempo. We are also slow to close-down in dangerous areas and need to support our backline more in transition moments.
U12 BOYS V. CLUB CSF (WFL) // 3-1 // LEAD COACH: MILO BLACK
Fixture date: 20 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW My favourite moment was Kurt’s glorious free-kick – what a talent – but I also enjoyed examples of our composure to play back to front: Jarvis’ distribution, although typically erratic, was – at times – superb, as was the composure of our central spine in Andi, Alex, Yas & Edgar.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Captain Alex is rewarded with this for his continued commitment and ability to soak in information. His composure on the ball is particularly impressive, in which his calmness was effective to draw in pressure before making good decisions in possession.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Finishing chances is a key focus on us, the game shouldn’t have ended 3-1. Against a tougher opposition we could get punished! Discipline in playing our style of football, including; forming diamonds around the ball carrier, finding the free man, opening out away from pressure, keeping the ball moving in our half.
U14 DEV V. HMH EAGLES (WFL) // 5-2 // LEAD COACH: IGNACIO MARINI
Fixture date: 20 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW The chemistry between Kallias Christopoulos and Adam Elsayed on the lefthand side was unparalleled as they constantly went at the opposition fullback, completing countless take ons, before switching the play to other side. In part due to their determination, we had four different goal scorers.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Ozan Uyar is the player of the match for his relentless pressing, leadership, and determination to win.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Despite the outcome, we took a while to get going and didn’t play with enough intensity from the outset. We can do a better job kicking off the game with higher intensity next time however.
U18 BOYS V. POWERHOUSE FC (WFL) // 4-5 // LEAD COACH: STEVEN HAMMERSCHLAG
Fixture date: 20 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW The way the boys kept up their belief and fighting spirit throughout despite going in to halftime 3-0 down! Clawed the game back to 3-3 within 20 minutes of the second half!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Bilal with a hat trick in a stunning display! Rounded it off with the goal of the match in the last kick of the game- a curler into the top corner!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Being on time and better prepared at the start of fixtures. Starting too slow and giving ourselves far too much work to do in recovering from a deficit.
U18 BOYS V. LOS CAMPOS (CAMDEN & ISLINGTON YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE) // 3-2 // LEAD COACH: STEVEN HAMMERSCHLAG
Fixture date: 22 Oct 2024
MATCH OVERVIEW Once again finding ourselves 2-0 down going into half time , we rallied together and managed to maintain our composure needed to find the goals to turn the tie in our favour!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Max Donlan with his two goals but in truth it was a team effort that got us over the line!!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING Retaining the ball a bit better at times will help us control games better and alleviate pressure put on defenders on the counter attack when we commit numbers forward.
