MATCH REPORTS – STRENGTH TO STRENGTH, 26 FEBRUARY – 5 MARCH

7th Mar 2025

26 FEBRUARY – 5 MARCH

GIRLS ACADEMY

U11s // Coach Meg // 3-4 vs. Camden Youth

FAVOURITE MOMENT: When the girls bought it back to 4-3 with only a few minutes to go- they battled really hard until the end but only just fell short result wise!

WHAT CAN WE IMPROVE? We will do some work on individual and paired defensive work as a refresher for the girls!

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Sadie- she took on board our advice on defending alone being outnumber and straight away we saw her trying what we had said- she made some great tackles in the second half to deny our opponents from getting in on goal!

BOYS ACADEMY

U10s // Coach Alex // 5-0 vs. EFA

FAVOURITE MOMENT:The entire game from start to finish was a joy to watch, the boys did exactly what we had worked on in training, and were quick to praise one another in every situation. My favourite moment this week couldn’t be narrowed down to one thing, it was a brilliant team display!

WHAT CAN WE IMPROVE? Making sure to remember our defensive principles at every stage of the game. When we are winning by this many goals, next time our aim as a team will be to make sure we do not concede – well done boys!

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Brian, our captain stepped up this week and took on a new role as striker. He played brilliantly, and better yet he was a constant motivator and source of positivity for the rest of his team!

U12 GOLD // Coach Milo // 0-4 vs/ Panthera FC

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Had a really good spell at the end of the 1st-half & start of 2nd, where we were building momentum; task will be how to maintain that level of performance for longer. We also actually played in behind really well, but were unlucky to be up against the best sweeper-keeper performance I’ve seen.

WHAT CAN WE IMPROVE? Discipline in our 1v1 defending should be better given how much we’ve worked on it. Elements of our attacking play where we can take less touches to speed up the attack & look to combine out wide when the ball over the top wasn’t on.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Chris, had some lovely touches and feints to beat pressure. Great ball over the top, which Santi couldn’t quite convert. Well done mate.

U12 GOLD // Coach Milo // 5-0 vs. EFA(if applicable)

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Getting the 1st goal. Was thoroughly deserved after a 1st-half bombardment and lifted some of the angst from the game.

WHAT CAN WE IMPROVE? Decision-making when we go forward. Picking our moments to go v when to consolidate possession and play into space; knowing when to attack quickly (when we’ve got an overload or counter-attacking) v when to fixate and wait for support runs.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Again, loads of strong contenders (Basti did fantastically well at CB, Yas was imperious at CM, Rex once again saved our bacon) but it has to be Flavio, who’s coming off the back of a strong run of performances. Confident, taking risks & showing a great appreciation for timing/deceit. Well deserved fella.

U15 GOLD // Coaches Biraj & James // 7-1 vs. TTFF

FAVOURITE MOMENT: As a collective, the team did the simple things extremely well! Comfortable in possession playing some entertaining football, but every player worked tirelessly when we were out of possession.

WHAT CAN WE IMPROVE? Only thing missing was the clean sheet which we deserved, fantastic performance.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Yuval W. Technically excellent and dogged out of possession, has settled in very well and is going from strength to strength!

U15 GOLD // Coaches Biraj & James // 5-8 vs. Whetstone Tigers

FAVOURITE MOMENT: Struggled for any real consistency within the game as we found it difficult to move the ball and dominate possession

WHAT CAN WE IMPROVE? Play against the counter attack better and work on our heading

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Rubens B. A very good hattrick to rewards his effort and quality
