BFA U14 GIRLS GOLD // COACH DWIGHT // 4 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: As a coach, it’s heartwarming to see what you worked on in training play out during a match. The girls were brilliant from start to finish, displaying effective passing combinations and constantly unlocking the opposition defence with forward runs in behind.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: If we can master the timings of our runs and passes in behind, we will become even more potent, as we had two or three goals chalked off for offside. But nonetheless I commend their efforts for constantly trying to break the lines and get in behind to score.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: If we can master the timings of our runs and passes in behind, we will become even more potent, as we had two or three goals chalked off for offside. But nonetheless I commend their efforts for constantly trying to break the lines and get in behind to score.
BFA U14 GIRLS BLACK // COACH DWIGHT // 0 – 0
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Despite not being one of our better performances this season, the last 10 mins of the game showed a team willing to battle for the win until the very end. We created so many goal scoring opportunities and threw everything at the opposition, but on the day we couldn’t convert our chances into goals.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Despite not having much to do for large portions of the game, Keiti made 3 brilliant 1v1 saves that kept us in the game and ultimately won us a point. Well done to her for keeping her focus when it mattered most!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: I believe had we prepared properly for the game we could’ve won. The effort and intensity during training & the warm up was lacklustre and this translated into a subpar performance. I know the team agrees we’re much better than what we showed, and I hope we’ll rectify this during training this week.
BFA U14 GIRLS GOLD // COACH DWIGHT // 6 – 0
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Another thrilling performance from the Golden Girls, with only a short warm up on a cold rainy night, they still brought the heat with some eye-catching football. Some fantastic finishes and even better defending to keep a clean sheet against a good side to take us back on top of the table
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Alexia was our player of the match, scoring within the opening two minutes, securing a 1st half hattrick including a great run and finish from a ridiculously tight angle, and ending the game with a 4th goal in the 2nd half. Her work rate in the press and desire to win the ball was extremely commendable.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Despite a high scoring game, we could’ve easily scored 10+ with just a bit more composure in front of goal, aiming for the corners and away from the keeper. There were a few times we went for power rather than placement, resulting in shots straight at the keeper or off target.
BFA U11 GIRLS // COACH MEGAN // 6 – 4
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Some excellent combination play, showing great understanding of the core moves we’ve started working on in training.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Piper for reading the game extremely well and making some excellent interceptions and tackles
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: For future games, can we make sure we attack and defend as a team!
BFA U14 GIRLS BLACK // COACH CHELSEA // 5 – 2
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Some good combination play between Abigail and Neveah led to to an excellent team goal.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Lilia for going in goal for the team and making some amazing saves! Great team spirit
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: For future games, can we ensure we close the ball down and prevent opposition from having time on the ball. Working on how we can only regain possession, but delay deny and dictate play
BFA U15 // COACH BIRAJ AND JAMES // 6 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Jack Orbell’s goal. Starting with our left back Vinnie, a few intricate passes with George Frimpong leads to Jack finishing calmly in the bottom corner
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Emmanuel Vita. His composure, decision making and quality in our backline had stopped numerous attacks and was extremely impressed with how he carried himself!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We created numerous chances, but I believe the quality in the final 3rd could’ve been better, as well as quick decisions in defense and in attack. All in all, the players were set with the target of a strong performance that wanted 3 points, and they achieved that!
BFA U15 // COACH BIRAJ // 1 – 1
FAVOURITE MOMENT: George Frimpong’s goal. A great weak footed finish in his first match at Market road
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: George Frimpong mg for his goal
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We struggled massively with creating any real rhythm or flow in our game, especially in the first half. Important to keep possession well and move the ball as this is our style.
BFA U14 BLACK // COACH GEORGIOS // 2 – 0
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Boys were on it from the minute the show up at Market road. They arrived on time, full of confidence and positivity and ready to follow any instructions. They applied all the information and game plan that was given by coaches. Under very difficult weather conditions they managed to get a great win.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Sam Jothilingham – Most consistent player for the whole game!
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: We could manage the game better. When winning we need to control the tempo and rhythm of the game instead of rushing the play. Moreover, especially on the final third we should do better decisions in order to score more goals.
BFA U14 GOLD // COACH GEORGIOS // 2 – 0
FAVOURITE MOMENT: When opposition where pressing us high, and we managed to be calm to break it.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Morgan Summerhayes – With really fine saves in the second halves half he kept the opposition away from scoring.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Finish the majority of actions on target as we missed so many chances.
BFA U14 GOLD // COACH GEORGIOS // 1 – 4
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Being confident to play through the thirds for the majority of the game despite that we conceded a goal from our own mistake.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Paul Mertesacker – Won the majority of his individual battles on the ground and in the air. Super confident on the ball as well. Great positioning throughout the whole game.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Communication between the players could be better during the game. We need to work on how we could free up a player during throw-ins.
BFA GOLD // COACH ALFIE // 1 – 4
FAVOURITE MOMENT: When Ismail made a good run into the box played a 1-2 and tidy finish into the bottom corner
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Has to go to Ismail. Every time we scored he kept trying a never gave up trying to use what we did in training
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Working on the spacing between each other and how we use our width and length.
BFA U14 DEV // COACH IGNACIO // 1 – 4
FAVOURITE MOMENT: Warming up on the wet grass. Everybody must have fallen on their back at least once, including the coaches.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Jax George for being fearless both in defense and attack.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING: Not thinking too much about the opposition and focusing more on the things we can control.
