On a high after back-to-back wins in their opening matches, Bloomsbury Futsal Mens 1st Team will look to continue their momentum when they square off against Bolton Futsal Club 1st in their third match of the FA National Futsal Series 2022/23 on Sunday, November 6 at the University of Nottingham, with the action kicking off at 4:15 PM GMT.
Tapia-Owens’ men come off the back of a clinical 4-1 win over Loughborough Students Futsal Club First last weekend. After trailing by 0-1 at half-time, Bloomsbury scripted a remarkable fightback to snatch a 4-1 win at the end. Richard Ward’s brace, a long-range goal from Connor Millar, and an own goal by Loughborough helped Bloomsbury climb to the second spot of the points table (six points)
Meanwhile, their opponents from the weekend Bolton Futsal Club 1st started their campaign with a 5-1 over Hartpury Futsal Club Firsts but lost their second game 3-6 against York Futsal Vikings. They are currently placed fifth on the points table with three points.
Reflecting on the performance of the last game, the First Team manager Owens stated, “We had a good performance last game and felt we controlled the momentum of the game in both halves. We created more in the first than the second but proved more clinical in the second with our decision-making in the final third.”
Speaking about the preparedness for the Sunday game, Owens said, “The team is starting to gel and showcase in stages what we can do in and out of possession which is a real credit to everyone’s willingness to learn and keep progressing.”
“We’re expecting a tough energetic game with Bolton always pressing hard from the front so we will have to understand quickly the spaces we can exploit,” he concluded.
