Futsal Academy FAQs
Why is the Futsal Academy not continuing for next season?
Recent staff changes have impacted the prospects of future futsal delivery at Bloomsbury.
Bloomsbury Futsal has been an amazing community for the past 5 seasons. However, upon careful consideration, it was agreed that for the programme to continue to thrive, it will be best run independently, in a specialist futsal-only environment outside of Bloomsbury.
What if I want to keep playing at Bloomsbury next season?
Bloomsbury offers a wide variety of programmes, for all ages and ability levels. Use our ‘Find a Programme’ tool to find the type of football that works best for you!
We will continue to offer financial support to players from low-income households.
What is happening to the Boys' Futsal Academy?
Those previously attending Boys’ Futsal sessions will will have the opportunity to play at Braintree Futsal Club for the 2026/27 season.
From September, existing provision for some age groups will continue at Aldenham on Wednesdays, where Jon Kurrant will be part of the sessions’ delivery. Braintree sessions in Chelmsford will also be available for players for whom that location is more convenient.
There will continue to be a Senior Futsal pathway in place for these players.
How do I register my interest for the new Boys' Futsal provision?
What is happening to the Girls' Futsal Academy?
Those previously attending Girls’ Futsal sessions, from September, will be moving to a new home: Rise Futsal.
This is a new dedicated futsal club led by Kyle Wisnewski, who many will know as our former Futsal Academy Lead.
Like Bloomsbury, Rise Futsal will have an adult women’s team, so there’s a clear pathway for players as they progress.
How do I register my interest for the new Girls' Futsal provision?
The full training schedule is below. To register your daughter’s interest in Rise Futsal, please complete this form: Register your interest here. Sign-up is open over the summer, with priority given to players coming from Bloomsbury. The season is planned to start from 1 September.
What happens to my current Futsal subscription with Bloomsbury?
Your Bloomsbury subscription has now ended, and we won’t take any further payments. Bloomsbury will also be refunding your most recent payment.
What is happening to the End of Season Awards?
We’ll still be holding our end-of-season awards, a celebration of everything the players have achieved this year. We’re really looking forward to it and hope to see you there.
